Budapest Stock Exchange

The Budapest Stock Exchange (BSE) is announcing that it has signed an agreement with ELITE, London Stock Exchange Group’s successful business development programme, to support the implementation of ELITE in Hungary. Starting in 2017, ELITE in partnership with BSE will provide Hungarian companies with world-class tailored training that takes domestic economic considerations and regulations into account. The aim is to give Hungarian companies the confidence to incorporate capital-raising opportunities offered by the capital markets into their future plans.

The Budapest Stock Exchange welcomes the Stock Exchange Development Found recently launched by the government and also reports that its negotiations with the Ministry for National Economy have been successful. The new fund, to be operated by Széchenyi Capital Fund Management Zrt., aims to provide Hungarian small- and medium-sized enterprises with capital investment in order to support them in establishing a presence on the stock exchange.

Six Hungarian companies are attending the two-day investor conference held in Paris for 50 European listed companies to meet 120 interested institutional investors.

Leaders from the world’s stock exchanges and capital market institutions will meet up in Hungary in spring 2017, as the organisers of the World Exchange Congress have chosen Budapest and the Budapest Stock Exchange (BSE) to host the international conference. This event offers BSE a chance to consolidate its position in the global capital marketplace and to further enhance the key role Budapest plays in the international finance sector. The conference also provides a unique opportunity for Hungarian Capital market players to introduce themselves directly to the more than 200 top delegates who will visit Hungary next year.

The heads of the Romanian and Hungarian stock exchanges discussed possibilities of cooperation at their meeting in Budapest. The two leaders agreed to step up relations between the organisations, establish regular dialogue and explore specific possibilities of cooperation. The CEO of the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) welcomed the steps taken by the Budapest Stock Exchange to promote development of the Hungarian capital market, which he said would lay the groundwork for potential growth.
